About CortneyJo

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, CortneyJo discovered her passion for the performing arts early on. As a child, she loved to dance, sing, and entertain her family and friends. Her talent for acting emerged during a public speaking course in middle school, leading her to audition for and attend the Paseo Academy of Fine and Performing Arts High School. There, she honed her skills in Theatre, participating in numerous plays and musicals.

After high school, CortneyJo moved to New York City to pursue professional acting. Eventually, she returned to Missouri, enrolling at the University of Missouri-Columbia to continue her studies in Theatre. During her time at the university, she played a pivotal role in a student Christian organization, the Impact Movement, where she deepened her personal relationship with God and committed to living a life of faith.

In 2009, CortneyJo was licensed as a minister by the Second Missionary Baptist Church in Columbia, Missouri, and took on a leadership role in young adult and college ministry. It was during this period that the scripture Luke 12:48 resonated deeply with her, shaping her view of responsibility and service. What started as a light-hearted reference to herself as a "MUCH Woman" gradually evolved into a serious commitment to lead a women’s ministry, encouraging other women to embrace the "MUCH" ethos.

Years later, this vision came to fruition, and CortneyJo is profoundly grateful to be advancing this ministry. She now resides in Knoxville, Tennessee, with her two children, Calvin Jr. and Carli. CortneyJo serves as a weekend pastor at Faith Promise Church, where she supports her community through prayer, and offers guidance on salvation and baptism.

Additionally, CortneyJo is a Gallup Certified Clifton Strengths Coach.
